IR 615 Decodes 2 EFC for 1 Button

Post by chuckw4598 »

Hello, I have never had IR decode from a learned key more than 1 EFC per key press.

I am working on getting a Pioneer CD file changer PD-f908 working.
I am entering the codes into RM using Pioneer as my protocol and Device=162.
When IR decodes my learned key all is fine as long as there is only 1 EFC/Key.
IR decodes, for instance, "DISC +" as Pioneer, Device 162, EFC 248 and all works great. :D
When IR decodes "DISC -" as Pioneer, Device 162, EFC 177 AND ALSO Pioneer, Device 162, EFC 252 it does not work if I just enter 177 into RM for the EFC. It also does not work if I enter 252 for the EFC.
I assume they BOTH need to be entered for "DISC-" but I don't see how in RM.

Thanks for looking...CHUCK

Pioneer routinely uses 2-command signals for MANY of their components, and apart from the basic Pioneer protocol that you have selected, most of the OTHER Pioneer protocols support these 2-command type signals.

I suggest that you use the Pioneer 2-CMD protocol to build your upgrade.

Read the Pioneer Protocol Help section in KM (I don't know how good it is in RM - can't run RM at work).
...
Pioneer 2CMD:

If some of the functions for your device send a two-part signal
where the device code is the same but the command code varies, you
need to use the Pioneer 2CMD protocol.

For the functions that only use one command code, enter the same
command in both the regular OBC/EFC column and the byte2 column of
the Functions sheet.

For the functions that use two codes, enter the first one in the
OBC/EFC column and the second in the byte2 column.
Also, for Pioneer upgrades, I strongly suggest that use OBCs rather than EFCs.

Thanks for responding so quickly. You are always there when I've needed help.
Tried what you said and indeed for the 2 command keys IT WORKS! But now all the 1 command keys don't.
Summary:
Protocol = Pioneer = all 1 command keys work, 2 command keys don't
Protocol = Pioneer 2CMD = just the opposite of above

Any ideas? :?

Thanks-CHUCK
