Relook 400S

Post by jgm »

1.Device: Relook 400S
2. Type of device: Satellite Receiver
3. Year: 2006
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-7562
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question?

I've learned the codes for this on my URC-7562. IR.exe identifies it as a StreamZap protocol. I have a slight problem though - there are codes for devices 2 and 3. I don't know how to add both of them to a single device. I've compromised so far by using type 2 which has most of the buttons I need (numbers 0-9, channel up/down etc) and put a few of the device 3 as learned codes. I've uploaded both files to the satellite section.

Well since there is no StreamZap Combo protocol, you have used one of the standard workarounds for this problem. Depending upon your memory usage and availability, there are three ways to solve this:

(1) Use a device upgrade for the majority of the buttons and supplement that with learning - which is what you did, which of course consumes some Learning memory;
(2) Build a complete device upgrade for the majoprity of the buttons, then build a "bare" device upgrade for the alternative device (by bare, I mean assign no buttons in the upgrade), add that device upgrade and make keymoves from that second upgrade to supplement the first upgrade. (In this case remember that you only need to add the protocol upgrade ONCE, not twice, since it's the same). This frees up that learning memory, uses SLIGHTLY more upgrade memory, but uses some Keymove/Macro memory;
(3) For an all-in-one upgrade (which is finally an answer to your original question), use the Device Combiner protocol (it's a drop-down selection in both KM and RM). To do this, you must FIRST create the individual upgrades for StreamZap device 2 and device 3, copy the StreamZap protocol upgrade into IR, and (in KM) you need both sets of fixed data in the Device Combiner panel on the Setup worksheet, or in RM, on the Device Combiner tab import the two upgrades. Assign your buttons and add the device and protocol upgrades. So in this case, you would (potentially - depending on button assignments) use no Keymove/Macro memory and no Learning Memory, but you would have to add TWO protocol upgrades (StreamZap and DC) and the device upgrade. The DC protocol upgrade is (in this case) 73 bytes, so that's pretty big.

Only you can decide what's the most efficient use of your memory.

P.S. I provide the above not having looked at your files, since you didn't provide links to them.

I've just hacked the Streamzap executor and converted it into a combo protocol, the file is here...
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4186

To use this file, load it into KM, then on the functions sheet, in the byte2 column enter a 2 or 3 for device codes 2 or 3 (don't worry that the byte2 column is shaded, it'll work).

Unfortunately, this upgrade won't work with RM.

I’m trying to get the files to the tuner RELOOK 422S to control it though the slingbox.
I have the remote control URC 8910 and cable JP1 to LPT.
After start the program IR.EXE and read the codes on some quantity (DEVICE) is 2 and others is 3 (PROTOC. STREAMZAP) what caused that after making the files in(REMOTE MASTER) to slinbox (PL and RV) the buttons work only from one group or the other. How to connect both quantity so they all work together , or is there any other option to make a file to the slinbox
Thank you

New upgrade for the Relook 400s using the streamzap combo have been loaded to the file section.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.
