Error in KM 9.06

Post by Gator »

I have a upgrade file (pioneer DVD) made in KM 9.00, when I open
that file in KM 9.06 it changes every other HEX code in the upgrade.

I opened it in 9.00 again and it was OK, again in 9.06 it change the HEX code again.

File open in 9.00 look like this

7E 00 BE FE FE AD 2A CB 0A AB FA 01 7A 01 BA 01
3A 01 DA 01 5A 01 9A 01 1A 01 EA 01 6A 01 89 03
09 03 A2 01 BB 00 3B 00 5B 00 DB 00 FB 00 EB 00
F2 01 B0 01 30 01 39 01 D9 01 D0 01 08 01 C9 03
43 03 69 03 D2 01 58 01 D9 03 9B 00 1B 00

File open in 9.06 look like this

7E 00 BE FE FE AD 2A CB 0A AB FA 00 7A 00 BA 00
3A 00 DA 00 5A 00 9A 00 1A 00 EA 00 6A 00 89 00
09 00 A2 00 BB 00 3B 00 5B 00 DB 00 FB 00 EB 00
F2 00 B0 00 30 00 39 00 D9 00 D0 00 08 00 C9 00
43 00 69 00 D2 00 58 00 D9 00 9B 00 1B 00

The actual file is HERE

I have tried other files but they are ok.
It looks like it only apply to Pioneer protocol.

I opened the file in 9.06 and get this:

7E 00 BE FE FE AD 2A CB 0A AB FA 01 7A 01 BA 01
3A 01 DA 01 5A 01 9A 01 1A 01 EA 01 6A 01 89 03
09 03 22 01 BB 00 3B 00 5B 00 DB 00 7B 00 EB 00
F2 01 B0 01 30 01 39 01 D9 01 D0 01 08 01 C9 03
43 03 69 03 D2 01 58 01 D9 03 9B 00 1B 00

That matches your 9.00 example. In 9.00, I get :

7E 00 BE FE FE AD 2A CB 0A AB FA 01 7A 01 BA 01
3A 01 DA 01 5A 01 9A 01 1A 01 EA 01 6A 01 89 03
09 03 22 01 BB 00 3B 00 5B 00 DB 00 7B 00 EB 00
F2 01 B0 01 30 01 39 01 D9 01 D0 01 08 01 C9 03
43 03 69 03 D2 01 58 01 D9 03 9B 00 1B 00

They look identical to me. Did you change anything after opening the upgrade?

Hi Mark!

No, i didn't change anything.

I have been testing with other files and figured out that it change
only Pioneer mix protocol (7E).

After a closer look in KM, I find out that 9.06 don't calculate the
"byte2: cmd".

Since you have it correct when you open it, I think EXCEL must have changed something in the "translation" off the toolpak to Norwegian.

I get the same results as Mark when I open your file in 9.06, and also in my developmental copy of the next release. We have not made any recent changes to the toolpak translation, so I don't know why it would be different between 9.00 and 9.06.

For the 007E protocol, KM recomputes the entered byte2 value from the hex code and displays the results in the b2/ov column. What is displayed in the b2/ov column when you look at the upgrade in 9.06? (This was not functional in 9.00.)

I copied just the number and it looks like this

Functions OBC byte2:cmd 5-digit EFC 3-digit EFC b2/ov Hex"
num 0 160 1 05573 221 250 FA 00
num 1 161 1 06597 225 122 7A 00
num 2 162 1 06085 223 186 BA 00
num 3 163 1 07109 227 58 3A 00
num 4 164 1 05317 220 218 DA 00
num 5 165 1 06341 224 90 5A 00
num 6 166 1 05829 222 154 9A 00
num 7 167 1 06853 226 26 1A 00
num 8 168 1 38341 093 234 EA 00
num 9 169 1 39365 097 106 6A 00

I also tried to enter the values in a new upgrade still don't calculate byte 2.

All the Hex code you see above should have ended with 01 not 00.

Try deleting your copy of KM, then re-download it and try again.
