Two alternate IR codes for each button

Post by md27514 »

Can somebody point me into the right direction? I'm trying to learn IR codes for Phillips DVDR 3300H using URC-8910 remote. I quickly discovered that the remote for this DVDR is using for each button two diferent IR signals that alternate. That is, if I press 1 one IR signal is generated, second pressing of 1 generates different IR signal, third pressing again gives you the initial IR signal and so on.
I'm able to capture each signal separately using the learing procedure on URC-8910, but this of course does not give me original functionality I would like to have - which is that my learing remote will also alternate the signals as the button is pressed repeatedly.

I remember I read somewhere about this, but I tried google that article and can't find it. Could you give me any reference where I can read about this?

That indicates that the signal is relying on a "toggle bit" which cannot be properly used in a learned signal. You'll have to build an upgrade using the proper protocol in order to have the desired functionality.

Thanks.... It took me few hours to figure things out but now my remote and slingbox can control the DVDR. I'll post the files soon.
