:( bad news Johan,

As far as I know, you can not program the device buttons with anything.

As for programming the screens (i assume you mean to rearrange which buttons are visible and which are not?) this can not be done.

The closest you wil be able to get, is to change the device type from say, a CD to a SAT to get the extra buttons. I have not yet personally done this, so I can not confirm whether it does work or not....

actually this posting is of little value, but here it goes anyway!

bye

Try to assign your macros to the shifted device buttons (short press to setup and then hit the device button), this way, macros are working on the most (or all) S3C80-Remotes.

For the screens, they are in the ROM, no way to change this code. The only way is like Francois mentioned.

I believe it's not possible to do directly on the remote, but it can be done using JP1.

To have the ability to put macros on the device buttons, you would need to use an extender and one hasn't been written yet for the URC-9960. You're best bet is to try using shifted device buttons.

If you are looking to heavily customize this remote, you are goig to quickly discover why we don't like the Kameleons too much in the JP1 world, because you can't!

Writing extenders is a specialised skill that only a few here possess (I can't do it). So unless one of the writers takes a shine to the 9960 you're out of luck. Having said that, Hal did write an extender for the 15-2133 Kameleon, so who knows?
