1. Device: Yamaha HTR5540
2. Type of device:audio receiver
3. Year: 2001 (I think)
4. UEI Remote model: comcast on demand dvr 3-device universal remote
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? no
6. Still have original remote? yes
7. Checked the file section? yes (but I don't no how to read the file)
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? yes
9. Partially working setup code?
10. Learning remote question?
Not sure if I'm in the right place.
I need the code to program my On Demand Custom DVR 3-device Universal Remote that came with my Motorola DVR DCT6412 III.
I want to be able to turn the sound up and down on my Yamaha HTR5540 audio receiver using my On Demand Custom DVR 3-device Universal Remote. I have already tried the code #s that came in the instruction paper that came with the remote 0354,0176,1176 with no luck.
Could someone please help me or point me in the right direction.
thanks

All of the Yamaha HTR-XXXX files in the file section use the same protocol and device number (NEC1:122) as your built-in codes 0176 and 1176. Are you certain that you are assigning and activating those codes properly?
I don't believe your remote has JP1 support (yet?). Does it have a 6-pin connector in the battery compartment? ...and a label saying JP1 or JP1.2 or something?
I just looked at the OFAUSA website and apparently it is neither a learner nor can it receive modem upgrades, so if it's NOT JP1-able, you're likely stuck, but that site also lists setup codes 0186 and 1276. Have you tried those?

Re: Yamaha HTR5540 audio receiver
You describe the as both DVR and "on demand", so which remote do you really have...long3030 wrote:4. UEI Remote model: comcast on demand dvr 3-device universal remote
1) Comcast DVR 3-Device

2) Comcast OnDemand 3-Device

Either way, I think all Comcast remotes are JP1.1
