Just the RM section
1. Import of external functions - is it possible to include on the display of functions from 'the other' upgrade a bit more information beyond just the function name? Items such as hex and notes would be useful.
2. Open upgrade dialog - is it possible for RM to retain the settings such as window size and whether to display file detail or not?
3. Is it possible to make file selection just a tad more standard with the way Windows works? Currently I have to be very careful not to click on filename, but precisely on the icon, in order to select a file. Otherwise it seems to go into the filename edit mode. Also could we just open a file by double clicking the filename in that dialog?

Re: RM 1.64 GUI questions
I must point out that the changes you are requesting aren't specific to RM 1.64. There have been no changes in these areas in a looong time.
It is possible, and easy to do. It'll be in the next release.ElizabethD wrote:Just the RM section

Possible? Yes. Likely to be implemented soon? No. I'd rather use the time for adding IR capabilities.2. Open upgrade dialog - is it possible for RM to retain the settings such as window size and whether to display file detail or not?
I'm not having any of these issues. When I click on a filename or icon, it just gets selected. If I double-click either a filename or icon, it opens that file. If I click a filename, then click it again after a brief pause (slightly slower than a double-click), it goes into filename edit mode. Maybe my fingers are just a bit faster than yours?3. Re: RM 1.64 GUI questions
Thanks Greg.
Regarding the file selection thing. I've always seen that one. So I thought the requirement to be so precise to hit the icon and not the filename was some sort of java feature. I run Windowx XP home, but I did see it on the Windows2000 laptop, as well, when I played with JWS. So why is it working in the standard manner for you and not for me?
. I know. I haven't used RM for real in a looooooong time, like 1.54.gfb107 wrote:I must point out that the changes you are requesting aren't specific to RM 1.64. There have been no changes in these areas in a looong time.

Re: RM 1.64 GUI questions
Check your Double-Click speed setting in the Mouse control panel. This determines how Windows interprets two successive clicks. If it is set too fast, then double clicking on the filename text almost always goes into edit mode.ElizabethD wrote:Currently I have to be very careful not to click on filename, but precisely on the icon, in order to select a file. Re: RM 1.64 GUI questions
I know that, honest. It works fine in windows explorer. And I actually was tweaking it for RM. No impact.
This occurs when I single-click as well. Only precise aim at the icon works the way I like it.

Liz, do you have single or double click selection set? That and the double click speed could impact it.ElizabethD wrote:I know that, honest. It works fine in windows explorer. And I actually was tweaking it for RM. No impact.

Mike and Nils,
This is dumb. I wish I didn't bring it up considering IR work you guys are doing.
Nils, do you mean the windows explorer folder properties about double-click to open? If so, yes, double, always double.
Speed is in the middle. Everest says I have it set at 750msec. I never cared. Now that I've made an issue out of it, I decided to check. I'll just work on improving my aim
at those little pixels in the icon.
