Device code map

Post by qqwasder »

UEI does not seem able to help. Perhaps you know how to discover this info efficiently.

When I set a device on the UEI remote to a manufacturer's code, say TV to 0053, where can I find a list of the code(s) sent to the TV from the UEI remote when a given button on the UEI remote is pressed? For example, if I set TV to 0053 and press "fav" on the UEI, what is sent to the TV?

Pressing each button on the UEI remote and trying to guess what the TV did is sometimes easy, but frequently very hard.

I also cannot seem to find the codes sent in any of the JP1 files or programs (perhaps I just am not recognizing them)

you're asking about the code-to-button mapping for built-in codes. These are stored in the ROM of the remote and are not accessible by the JP1 user. There are a few official UEIC codes available in the official UEIC codes section of the File area of this forum, but only a few. There are also lists of many EFC to button mappings for built-in codes in the Advanced Code section of this site, although I believe these button assignments are for the RS 15-1994. Somrtimes Robman can get an official UEIC device code listing via his contacts at UEIC.

You can check the devices4.xls spreadsheet as it lists the button codes for all the setup codes in the 15-1994 remote, or you can check the advanced codes lists at hifi-remote.com

Good question. There's still a link to it over at Yahoo, but I couldn't find one here, so I just added one.

Here's the old Yahoo copy...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... 4-xls.html

Here's a new link to it from here...
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3353

Here's the real URL of the base file...
http://www.hifi-remote.com/files/tools/devices4.zip
