We have a non JP1 forum here for non JP1 questions. I don't know the 8910 very well, but I think the non JP1 answer is you can't do it, you need to use JP1.

With JP1 you can change which key a learned signal is on, so you can learn to whatever key is convenient, then download to the PC, then there are many choices (decode and program a KeyMove or upgrade) but it may be simplest to just change the key that the learned signal is programmed to.

Couldn't you learn it to say L1 and then go through the remotes steps for keymove. Keymove it to exit. Like John, I don't know much about the 8910 either. So I dont know what the steps are for keymoves without jp1.

This is a jp1 control (it is connected to my pc right now) look at the picture and also is included the last step from the manual that say what I was talking about on my previous post

Link to the manual look for page 29

I want to assigned to the exit key on my 8910 the exit command from my original control

You can't key move a learned signal (plus I think the Exit button is not able to be key moved to in the 8910 either for the same reason it can't be learned to). However, in IR you can edit the learned button, so just learn it to another button and then change it to exit.

Better yet, if it's a supplemental function to an existing setup code you're using for one of your current devices, use the learned signal decode details and create a stand-alone key move on the Exit button in that device mode.

We assumed from the nature of your post that YOU were a non-JP1 user (we know that the URC-8910 is a JP1 remote) because a JP1 user would have no need to program a learned button.

No clear answer? Maybe you can say what wasn't clear about Mark's answer and we can try and clear it up for you.
