You should get a JP1 cable because:

1] It's possible that the learning area of your remote's memory is already full with the PVR codes so even if someone finds the codes for your DVD etc. you would still need a way of using them. It's unlkely that you will find built-in setup codes for all your devices.

2] Most members of this forum upload their codes to the File Section once they have discovered (learned) them. So if no codes for your devices are there then you might have to learn the codes and build upgrades for yourself.

3] It's educational, addictive, fun and good for your brain. The more time you spend playing around with things that excercise your brain and the less actually watching television, the better you cognitive abilities will be into old age.

I would guess that perhaps the learning memory might be full? In which case a JP1 cable would be extremely useful.

You located an older revision of the doc, here are links to a more recent version:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/files/interf ... leRev5.pdf, and/or http://www.hifi-remote.com/files/interf ... leRev5.doc

I have just posted these links in the Miscellaneous>Interface Design section, where I thought they used to be previously.
