Problem with a 8060

Hi everyone,

I try to find out in the forum something that could help me...but no luck. I have a 8060 and when I try to download from the remote with ir it's telling me:

The remote does not contrain a valid checksum. If this has occurred because you cleared all the data in the EEPROM, then it's likely that the size detected by IR ($80) is incorrect. Would you like to enter the EEPROM size manually? (If you cleared the data but don't know the EEPROM size, then you could do a factory reset. This would clear everything out of the remote, but would allow IR to detect the correct EEPROM size.)

Can anyone has an idea what to do? I entered all the EEPROM sized but not a success...

I took the 8060 cause The Robman told in one thread that it's a european Kameleon that does work with JP-1

The URC-8060 does work with JP1, so that's not an issue.

Have you tried doing a 981 reset on the remote and then re-downloading?

Thanks The Robman for the help! It did reset it but when I try to download it now he's giving me:

No definition file could be found for this remote (MEKAM0-), so the data cannot be interpreted for you. Please verify that your RDF path (on the File menu) is pointing to the directory where your RDF files reside. If that is set correctly then you should download the most current RDF zip from the Tools area of the JP1 Files section to see if an RDF for your remote has been added

But most of the time, I just got the red dot blinking twice on the left of the IR.exe. And no information...If I put a US Kamelon I've got all the right details...But here I'm stuck :S - Try to find an answer on the forum but I don't see

The default signature for the 8060 is KAMEKAM0. It looks like the reset didn't work. Did you do the reset as described here for the Kameleon remotes?

Yes the reset was done in the same way. I tryed to rename the rdf file from Kamekamo to Mekamo but when I try to download he's telling me:

Bad checksum at address $0000. Expected $FB $04, but found $4B $41

then I click OK, I have:

There is a conflict at fixed data address $0019. Do you want to replace the existing data with the fixed data?

If I put Yes or No, it will then give me:

DevType15 4095 is not currently assigned to a deviece button. Would you like to assign it now? (If not, the Key Move associated with the "SHIFT-Key127"button will be ignored.)

Then If I put yes or no...It crash ir.exe

Is there any original kamekamo.rdf file?

Find out something...When I thought he crashed...in fact you have to wait 5 minutes and he tells you

and then it goes quite...

IIRC, the URC-8060 has a 4k EEPROM chip installed. We've been having problems with the more recent versions of the URC-9960 over here in the States that have 4k chips onboard. Mark Pauker is working on a new version of IR that will handle these remotes better.
