Problems with old 6131

Post by jkbarry »

My hard drive died and I am having to add a new device to my 6131, I reinstalled IR and the definition files. When I run IR and choose to upload from device I get
----No Definition file could be found for remote (pvr0pvr0)

I have a 6131 file in my RDF directory. What am I doing wrong? Its an old 6131B that I bought from Rob last year (or maybe 2 years ago). Any help would be appreciated.

Did you set the RDF path in IR so it can find the files?

Also make sure you do have the RDF that starts with pvr0pvr0 in the directory as there are a couple of rdf's for extenders and the base.

yes I have the directory set for the rdf. I dont have an rdf that starts with pvr0pvr0. My remote is the URC-6131B. Do I need to start over? Would that even work?

There's no such remote as a URC-6131B. There's the original URC-6131 (sometimes called URC-6131M where the "M" means modified) and the newer URC-6131N. Both use the same PVR0PVR0 RDF, so if you didn't extract that one from the RDF zip file, that's the cause of your problems.
