Learning code on an RS 15-2116 for the power TV
Ok, I Know that for this possible remote, it seems impossible to learn on this power button. Then i learn it on the swap button and figured the possibilies of doing a keymove on the power button. Fiasco.
Since, I tried to make a upgrade for my partular insignia tv
Is-tcva102502. Everything is decoding ine in IR programming, It is a aiwa protocol. When i tried to change the swap button to power button in IR, well another fiasco, Ialso try to make a keymove in IR wihout any succes.
After, I do a partial update using km and put the power code at the good place. No more luck.
Maybe i'm a triple idiot, but i just seem to miss somemething.
Any help should be very appreciated.
Pierre

Details would have helped.pierre wrote:Then i learn it on the swap button and figured the possibilies of doing a keymove on the power button. Fiasco.
You can't directly KeyMove a learned signal. You can decode a learned signal, and if you have a compatible setup code, keymove the decode. We don't know which you tried, nor whether you found any partially correct built-in setup code.
"Fiasco" doesn't even give us a guess whether the learned power function on the swap button worked on the swap button.
Device number?pierre wrote: Since, I tried to make a upgrade for my partular insignia tv

Another description lacking any of the details needed to tell us what you really did.pierre wrote:When i tried to change the swap button to power button in IR, well another fiasco,
Since you have a .ir file with the learned signals, and a .txt file with the attempted upgrade, those files may tell us more about what you did than you can accurately describe. Try uploading them to the diagnosis folder and post their URL back here.
ok iposted the file ...

That's just the KM file, so I still can only guess what the decodes look like.
In KM, you put a 1 below the device number, in the position where most protocols have the subdevice. Does that mean the decodes had a subdevice of 1?
It's a good idea to read DecodeIr's protocol specific documentation after getting a decode. In this case there are special instructions for Aiwa subdevice for KM for the non-combo version of an Aiwa upgrade:
http://john.fine.home.comcast.net/ir/DecodeIr.html#Aiwa
I understand power didn't work in the upgrade you posted. What about the other functions?

(1) Do NOT put anything in the subject line of replies (or follow-ups) to posts, since it appears in very small type in an obscure loaction and nobody (hardly) ever notices, much less READS such a subject line. The only subject line anybody sees is for the entire thread.
(2) Most of those people who would be able to help are still waiting to see an IR file downloaded from your remote with the learned signals. That is the only way to see if there is anything wrong with your KM upgrade.
(3) if you "hope to be clear", answers that consist of less than one complete sentence ("Only on a other buttons") are significantly less than "clear". Complete sentences with detail allow others to help you more easily.

The notes linked by John do not match those in KM's protocol help.
John's link above states that for Aiwa:
John's link above states that for Aiwa:
So your device code should be 26 PLUS (1x256) = 282. Try 282 as your device code and no subdevice code, and see if that's any better. When using a non-combo version of Aiwa in KM, you must combine the device and subdevice numbers as device+256*subdevice to get the number KM calls "Device Code". (Since subdevice is usually zero, that combination is trivial). In Aiwa combo in KM you use the subdevice as "parameter" (on the setup sheet) and put the device in the byte2 column on the functions sheet. RM follows DecodeIr's naming of Device and Subdevice.

Before testing an upgrade, delete the learned signals that cover the same keys and device mode as the upgrade.
I THINK you said the keys other than power in the upgrade worked. (Maybe I misunderstood. You may need translation help from someone who knows your language and knows English better).
But, Capn Trips is right about the device number, so no part of the upgrade should have worked. And Whompus is right about the setup code number difference between the General tab and the device update, so you may not have tested the upgrade at all. And learned signals override the upgrade, so you were just retesting the learned signals on any keys that have them.

If a device upgrade has a function assigned to the Power button, when that device is active, the Power button will execute that assigned function. Even on the 2116.
