can I hot plug?

This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

can I hot plug?

Post by alhall »

I'm brand new here and I have the most basic question. I'm reading "Just how easy is it?" and just wondering: Can I hot plug the parallel interface into my jp-1 remote or should I power down the computer before making the connections?

Doesn't matter, but normally, the cable is hooked up to the parallel port first (and stays there for the duration of your "JP1-ing" session), and then you plug/unplug from the remote LOTS of times as you up/download and test/modify.

Thanks or the quick reply. That makes sense. I just didn't want to start out with a bang:-)
