Hi guys:
I need to program a remote for a friends Sony. It has a built in wireless headphone which the original remote turned on and off. I'm using a URC 8811.
Anyone know how to get the code for that headset programmed onto this remote?
Thanks,
Scott

I have nothing to learn it from, friend says dog is to thank for that. Need to program it.you should be able to learn the function
I'm probably doing it the hard way but this is what I'm doing:
I setup a new 801x remote in keymap master 8.38 with TV 000, and Sony 12/15 protocol.
In the functions tab, I pasted all the sony 1 codes from:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/sony/Sony_tv.htm
In the buttons tab, I've assigned all the desired buttons, including 098 (audio) to a remote button. I did not assign anything to the @xxx buttons as I'm still fuzzy about what those are.
I copied the resulting upgrade code in the spreadsheet
In ir.exe I went to the devices tab and chose new, and pasted the upgrade code there. Back to the general tab and DL to remote.
Anything wrong with this procedure? Should work this way right? I'll give the programmed remote to my friend to test obviously, but if I've done something wrong, please let me know.
Thanks!
Scott

This is really a code search question, so the template would be really helpful here. I have filled in the answers as best I can from the limited info supplied so far.

Sony TVs are very standard, the IR command set doesn't vary very much from one set to another, it's the features themselves that vary (eg, some sets have PIP, some don't, etc).
Therefore, you could use any of the Sony TV upgrade files, available in the file section, as your starting point. You could then add any additional functions that you think you need from the list that you posted to the upgrade.

EFC 098 is OBC 080 from the 1st device code (ie, 1), which is described as "Internal Speakers On/Off" on Rob H's Sony page.Sljivovica wrote:Hey, I'm not too sure, but try EFC 098 or if that doesn't work, 197...
I don't know the equivalent OBC-codes to that.
EFC 197 is OBC 031 from the 2nd device code (ie, 164), which is described as "Music, Surround, Effect (music note in circle icon)" on Rob's page.

Thanks very much for the time to help guys.
I did not have the tab set to obc so I changed that. And I did not have the device ID as 1 so I added that.
Now the thing is controlling my Sony fine so I'm on a goot start. I will have my friend try the audio commands on his.
Thanks again as always!

The xbr37 is a 1994 model so all the commands should be within the standard Sony code. For the headphones you might try:
EFC195 - select
EFC001 - output select
EFC143
EFC147
EFC144 - These last three were found on some older remotes as discrete digits 10,12,13 and were often reused (discrete 11 is "enter" on newer remotes).

Just call me Zaphod (or Steve) --- I never should have started using numbers in a screen name but I just can't stop now.

1. Device: Sony KV32XBR37 (TV model, OEM remote)
2. Type of device: TV
3. Year: purchased about 1995
4. JP1 Remote model: URC-8811
5. JP1 user? Yes, rank newbie though
6. Still have original remote? Yes but not functional at all (Dog damage)
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? TV/0000
10. Learning remote question? n/a
This remote is the one pictured that Rob linked above. It has a set of "windowed" buttons in the upper area. These are controlled with a slider that changes the buttons to 1 of 3 groups.
From left to right, Group 1 is:
Position, Swap, PIP
Freeze, Audio, TV/Video
none, none, CH +
PIP, none CH-
Group 2 has VCR fucntions
Group 3 has:
Sleep, Codeset, CH Guide
none, OSE, Headset
Reset, +up arrow, menu
mode, -down arrow, return
The "Headset" button is the one I'm mostly looking for. I have a 8811 keymap spreadsheet working, so I am close to having a upgrade. I though I better check here since Rob showed me how.
Thanks very much for any help.
Best,
Scott
