Yamaha CD upgrade file format?

Post by kwhumphreys »

Can anyone tell me how to load this upgrade file:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... ile_id=167

It looks like raw hex data, and RM reports that it cannot load it.
Thanks
Kevin

This is NOT a device upgrade file. It is an IR file with a bunch of learned signals - presumably from the Yamaha CD changer.

If you open it in IR, and look at the learned signals tab, it will give you decodes of a bunch of functions from which you can build an upgrade. What is unclear is what functions are learned to what buttons, since there are no notes with the file.

Since there is no Yamaha CD device upgrade besides that one, you may as well open that and build yourself an upgrade, and test to see what each function does.

Also, since they all decode to NEC1 Device 121 functions, you can try built-in setup codes CD:0036, or CD:0888.

Edited after whompus pointed out a stupid error I made

Nothing stupid about typos my friend. You have most likely noticed I make them often.
