Hi all,
First off, I am about 1 hour new to JP1, though have some experience with LIRC.
I have a Leadtek TV2000XP TV card with a remote on an HTPC that I am trying to Universalize. I have a JP1 remote/cable and can view in IR what I have "learned" off of the Leadtek remote. I am curious how to figure out an approximate setup code.
(what is common on every learned key from the Leadtek remote)
Protocol: NEC1
Device: 3
Sub: null
Is there a way to figure out what the setup code would be for this configuration? I have seen other posts where people post the learned information and someone comes up with, oh that's a Toshiba(0154) or Sony(0080). If so, how do you reverse engineer the setup code from the above?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How to reverse engineer learning codes to a setup code

Look up those values in the Device.xls spreadsheet (available in the Tools/Main folder of the File section), and see what setup codes correspond to that, and if that setup code is resident in your remote.
Since you don't say what your remote is, I can't look it up for you.
P.S. It looks like CBL:0400 is the only setup code with that combination of protocol/device no., and it is found in 24 JP1 remotes. But there's no guarantee of any button assignments matching what you would intuitively want.
P.S. There appears to have been a Leadtek upgrade in the Miscellaneous section of the File area at some point in the past, but it is missing, so you get no help there.
P.P.P.S. But why do you want to do that?! You apparently have a learning remote. You apparently have IR. Just learn all of the commands and use KM or RM to build your own upgrade. It'll be EXACTLY the way you want it.

Thanks for the reply,
btw, I have a RS 15-2116 I just scrounged at a local RS (it was in a very beat up package that had been restapled several times). I really like this remote and I am kind of sad to see this type of remote go bye bye (heavy feel, JP1, all buttons).
I also have a UEI 8910 which I do not like and will keep as a JP1 spare.

If the Winfast upgrade works, let us know so we can add a cross-reference for the Leadtek.

OK then, I just edited the names of the 2 Winfast files so that Leadtek is now the first word.
