Learned signal is missing from my ir.

The panel for learned signals is missing from my ir. I attached my abbas.ir in the diagnosis area. Pls help, newbie.

What did you do to create that .ir file?

It has the signature for the extender, not for a normal 8910. The extender doesn't support learned signals.

On closer look, I see you really do have learned signals in that .ir file, even though the signature is set for extender.

The learned signals are all in the AUX device, all NEC1 protocol, device 128, no subdevice.

The OBCs you learned for each key are

73 -> Play
78 -> FWD
16 -> Rew
72 -> Stop
74 -> Vol+
08 -> Vol-
02 -> Guide
86 -> Mute

Next time, try to have a healthy non-extender image in your 8910's eeprom before learning signals.

Thanks to everybody, with the explanation about the extender, I was able to fix the issues and I'm happy to announce that i'm contributing a small thing, the upgrade file for MediaGate MG-35 Multimedia Player for URC 8910. It is in the file section.

I realize I'm hijacking this thread a little, but i wanted to hear your impressions of the MG-35. I have the TViX C3000U, and although I have been generally happy with it, there are some things about the MG-35 that are very appealling.

I use the TViX only as a DVD jukebox, although I have tried the music and photo features.

What I love about the TViX:

Supports large drives using NTFS (I've personnaly tried it with 300GB)
Plays ISOs with full menu navigation.
Supports XViD/DViX encoded avis with AC3 audio
Upconverts to 480p, 720p, or 1080i
Has digital coaxial audio output for AC3 and DTS pass-through.
Supports 5 "bookmarks" so you can resume playback where you stopped.
Has SYNC adjustment buttons to let you adjust the video/audio sunchronization

Things I wish were different:

Should have an auto-resume mode so that when it loses power when I turn off the car it will resume playing automatically when power is restored
It doesn't provide enough startup power to spin-up my Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 300GB drive model ST330831A (works if I provide external power to the drive)
There's no option to hide file extensions, resulting in sorting issues ("Shrek 2.avi" is listed before "Shrek.avi"

Does the MG-35 do everything the TViX does, but add

stream files over the network from a PC
Attaching an external USB drive as a slave to the MG-35 for playback

Those two items seem like they would add significantly to the appeal of the MG-35.

There are a couple of devices I've seen that stream content. Have you visited the avsforum.com dvdplayer (std def) forum:

I think there's the snazio, a player by buffalo (?) and maybe one or two more. the main features are wired versus wireless, formats supported, user interface, etc.

Yes MediaGate MG-35 streams over wired lan to play any of the supported media. And it will stream from all pc withing the same network subnet. In addition if u pay $20 to ewaggle.com, it will also act as a NAS. However it does not have usb host functionality.
Besides it does everything that TVix can do.
