All my prices are in the first post in this thread. As for whether the 9960 is a good choice for your devices, every JP1 remote can control any IR-controlled device, so the 9960 is as good a choice as any other JP1 remote.

I am temporarily out of JP1 cables, but I should be getting more in the next week or so.lilbuzz wrote:I would like to buy a modified 9960, and a JP1 cable (parallel). Is there a link to purchase these?
To place an order, just send me the money thru Paypal and I'll get your remote out the next day. However, if you're planning on using a credit card, check with me first to get the correct surcharge amount.
The Kameleons also have PVR buttons.new-guy wrote:is the 6131 the only remote with PVR buttons?
It's not good.new-guy wrote:How bad is the battery life on the kameleons?

Re: URC-9960
The only mod that I do to the URC-9960 is to solder in the 6-pin. If you buy a URC-9960 from me, you won't need to use any sort of adapter with it, you'll just need a JP1 cable.hylor wrote:Do I need any adapters(pogo, etc...) for the 9960 or does your mod go all the way to the 6 pin connector?

Rob, I currently have 2 6131's. One from you and one I modified myself. Now I'm trying to decide between the 8910 or the 8811.
1) What does the remote chart mean by greater than 2k support. Do you need to change or add eproms to have more than 2k?
2) What is more advantageous modem upgrade or greater than 2k support?
3) Which has better battery life. I assume the 8811 since it doesn't have an LCD.
Thanks

It tells you whether the remote supports EEPROM chips larger than 2k. For most remotes, 2k EEPROMs are the largest that they support.airauto wrote:1) What does the remote chart mean by greater than 2k support.
If you want a larger chip than the one that's currently in the remote then yes, you would need to replace it.airauto wrote:Do you need to change or add eproms to have more than 2k?
The two concepts are un-related. A JP1 user has no use for the modem, and you would need to be a JP1 user to make use of a larger EEPROM (in most cases).airauto wrote:2) What is more advantageous modem upgrade or greater than 2k support?
I don't think the LCD has much effect on battery life.airauto wrote:3) Which has better battery life. I assume the 8811 since it doesn't have an LCD.
I don't sell those parts, so check the mouser.com site for prices.d66 wrote:How much for parts to upgrade (eeprom & pins ) URC-6011 ?

If you have the maps and images file for RemoteMaster support, just compare the URC-9910 jpg image with the URC-9910New jpg image.
(The 8910 and 9910 look exactly the same externally)
The "New" has individual buttons for the 4 arrow keys around the "select" button, whilst the "Old" has a tilting ring around the "select" button with all four arrow functions.
If you don't have those images, you can download them HERE.

Remember me?
You helped alot last week before I fried my remote because I obviously had lost some of my soldering skillz.
At any rate I am ready for a parrallel jp1 cable but not sure how this works. Should I just send the money via paypal and then you send the cable? Do I need to make some kind of formal request or did I just do that...?
Thanks
