shaded buttons in KM

Post by Ube_Astard »

I have a 9910 remote and want to map the 'fav' button in KM, however the button is shaded and cannot be edited but it has a function when I press it (eg cable mode it does a scans through the channels, but I want it as the favourites button). How do I change it?

The FAV button does not send a distinct IR signal like the other buttons, instead it performs a built-in function (ie, it scans the channels as you have discovered). To program this button you would need to install the extender for this remote.

FYI, even if you use the extender, KM will still show the FAV button grayed out since KM doesn't distinguish between normal and extended remotes (except for a few specific case like the 6131). You can either setup a keymove manually in IR, or use KM's Key Moves sheet to define it.
