Post by pettinej »

I am using IR 6.15 and RM 1.15 and KM 8.35.

I down loaded the coolsat_4000_pro.txt loaded into KM piced my device URC-7800. I copied the upgrade code put in into IR on the devices tab and tested. My first observation is that the channel up down does not work.

IR says it is this.

Some keys are correct but others are not.

Next question is that the volume does not work when I select this device. Can you tell me how I can make it work? I am using a volume punch set to my rxer.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you remember to set the appropriate device button on the General tab in IR to Cable/1554?

Also, did KM indicate if a Protocol Upgrade was also required?

Yes I did set the CD and AUX button to the approiate device on the general tab in IR. KM did not indicate that a protocol upgrade was needed.

Any chance of uploading the IR file and KM file to the Diagnosis Area of this forum? Please also post again here and add links to those files.

OK I think I found the problem. On the button page in KM the channel up and down was set to page up and page down. If I set it up to Channel up and Channel Down it fixes these buttons. I am sure I can fix the other buttons now.

I do have one other question. When I select my new device (sat) the punch through volume (which is set to my reciever) does not work anymore. It controls the volume to my sat instead of my receiver.

Are you assigning this SAT upgrade to a non-SAT device button? If so, that's what's breaking the VPT.
