I'm trying to figure out how to update my 8811 from my OSX laptop.
For my first project, I'm trying to add the Apple iPod remote as my aux device. So far, I've downloaded RM, the RDF support files and the Universal Dock upgrade file. I can open the upgrade file in RM and change the buttons, but I still have a few questions:
1. How do I send the upgrade to the 8811? Clearly I'll need some sort of usb -> jp1 cable (which I don't have), but I imagine I'll also need a driver. I believe IR.exe does this for windows, but there doesn't seem to be parallel software for the mac. Is ir.exe open source? Is it based on platform-independent code (like Java)?
2. The Universal Dock upgrade file is listed as being for the "URC-9910 / 8910 / UEI HTPro," for which I do not have an RDF file. Regardless, is this compatible with the 8811 or will I have to change some of the codes?

I can't help you with the Mac stuff, but IR is written in Delphi (Pascal). Have you searched for and read any of the threads here pertaining to running IR on a Mac?gcnovus wrote:1. You can add the necessary RDF to your RDF folder. Then after you open the upgrade, select the 8811 as the remote. Then goto the Buttons tab and verify/edit the function assignments.2.
