I know they're out there..wheres a good deal on a reciever dongle or whatever u call it to remote control winAMP etc.

to control tv etc.. this could be linked to voice control like DragonDictate

Sure. Just learn the commands from the included remote. If you got a JP1 cable, you could make a device upgrade. We already have upgrades for this slightly better PC remote:

In fact, I have a spare one of these in my closet I'll sell you for even less. PM me if you're interested.

Yes, that appears to be the same one. HERE's a thread about it. Mostly technical stuff, but there are a few useful tips in there for a Non-JP1 users, especially around how the mouse and hotkeys work.

Yes, if you have a JP1.3 cable. I assumed you didn't since you posted in the Non-JP1 forum.

That's outside the scope of these forums. You probably want to look into EventGhost. http://www.eventghost.org/
Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.)

Those cheap remotes can usually do 4 hotkeys for launching apps via shortcuts on your desktop. Additional commands besides the ones called by buttons on the remote do not exist. Beyond that, eferz's EventGhost is the way to go.
