Has anyone gotten their HTPro remote from X10.com yet?

If you have something to sell or are looking to buy something, this is the place.

Has anyone gotten their HTPro remote from X10.com yet?

Post by bob_m »

Was it the correct 9910 clone?
Did it come with the RF thing-a-ma-bob?
What color is the backlight?
Correct price/shipping cost?

Apparently X10 . com does not have the best reseller rating, but the price is great! :)

I just got mine yesterday, and it is a very nice remote! Just seems like more than what I need, since I am happy with my extended 6131. I just couldn't stop myself from buying one at that price, though! Maybe I'll see how it feels with the Tivo commands. It is backlit. Now just what to do with all of the extra buttons...

I can't tell whether just FedEx messed up or whether x10 and FedEx messed up. My package got onto the right Fed Ex truck, which even visited this location, but due to an error in its record in FedEx's computer, it wasn't delivered here and is now heading back to X10.

I saw the problem flagged in the FedEx tracking yesterday and called them. The agent I spoke to called the driver and found that the correct address was on the package but not in the computer. He said he'd fix the computer record so I'd get it today. But when I called today I found he had not changed anything and the package is on its way back to the shipper.

I had a similar problem. According to the tracking record, mine was "Re-routed to correct delivery address", and delivered and signed for there. However, it wasn't delivered to my home. FedEx is on the case, but I'm not too hopeful.

Weird! Mine was on a truck for delivery on Friday, but did not arrive and the status did not change. Today the status now reads "Cannot locate recipient". I talked to them yesterday and it looks like I will be again today. This is strange, since I have had packages delivered here by UPS and FedEx in the past 3 weeks.

Mine also said "Cannot locate recipient". I only got more info by calling FedEx.

It sounds X10 had a computer problem in transferring data from their computer to FedEx's computer.

If I believe what the FedEx agent told me yesterday, the package has the correct address on its label (printed by X10's computer) but does not have that address in its entry in FedEx's computer (which transferred directly there from X10's computer, not entered by FedEx from the label).

IIUC, the FedEx driver gets the address from the computer before ever looking at the package (that's a sensible process). But when they can't get the address that way, they seem to have no fall back of looking at the address on the package. They just give up.

Mine came in the mail (USPS) today. I didn't take it out of the manufacturers box though.

No problem in my neck of the woods. Sorry to see you guys are having problems.
As reported earlier, I've had good luck with #1. Then I ordered #2 Wed. It was shipped 2/18 by FedEx. Shipping notification and the remote came 2/21.

I got lucky and my 7 arrived today.
Rather big boxes. (1 big box- 3 loose and a smaller case of 4)

Nice dark grey rubberized back half. Much nicer to hold than the 8810w (at least for me).

One less Macro button - Remote has commerical skip added vs. 8810

If I get a chance I'll take some pics if people are interested...

I am new to these forums, but I have been lurking and reading them for quite some time. I would just like to say a quick Thank you for all the help that all of you have been on helping me find a perfect remote for my needs.

I was a little leary of purchasing from X10 because the only option they had for shipping was with FedEx. In the past I have had some really bad experiences with FedEx, and try and stay clear of any website that doesn't offer UPS. But for 8 bucks plus shipping I just couldn't pass it up! I am sure glad that I didn't. My HTPro arived on Monday and I have been programing the heck out of it ever since! Sorry to hear about your problems with shipping, hopefully they will get it all worked out.

I had already purchased a URC-9910 based on several posts from these forums, and it is a fantastic little remote. Thanks to Rob for posting about the price of the HTPro at X10.com, I snapped up one of those as well. The rubberized coating on the HTPro makes it feel much more comfortable to use. Now that I have both, I will probably use the 9910 to play with JP1 programing, and use the HTPro as my main remote.

Does the HTPro from X10 include the RF base (receives RF from the remote and retransmits as IR)?

I finally managed to get throught to someone in X10's customer support. It is arriving back there today, but he doesn't think they can get it turned back over to FedEx before Monday, so I won't have it (even if everything goes right) for at least another week.

Yes it does, there's a picture of the remote with it's accessories here.
