Logitech and Universal Electronics Inc. Enter into Business Relationship and Settle Patent Infringement Litigation

FREMONT, Calif., ROMANEL-SUR-MORGES, Switzerland and Cypress, Calif.
— Nov. XX, 2004 — Logitech (SWX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) and Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) (NASDAQ: UEIC) today announced that the two companies have entered into a business relationship in which Logitech has licensed certain UEI technologies to be used in the Logitech Harmony line of advanced remote controls. In addition, the parties have agreed to explore mutually beneficial opportunities related to the supply and manufacture of remote controls, including the opportunity for UEI to license certain technology from Logitech. The agreement, the specific terms of which are confidential, is part of an overall business relationship that includes settling patent infringement litigation currently pending in the Federal District Court of the Central District of California between UEI and Logitech.
