How do I copy a device from IR to RM?

Post by EditMan »

Okay, I have had great luck copying a device from RM to IR for upload. But how do I copy from IR to RM? Everytime I try to import from clipboard, I get the "Import not valid!" error message.

Also, I strange but my Devices tab in IR only shows TV devices even though I know my URC9910 has all the other devices programmed. Does IR also show the factory devices that are contained within the URC9910?

You can't do it that way around, from what I remember the copy from clipboard allows you to take a complete KM upgrade into RM.

The only way to acheive what you want is a manual process, usually it involves getting someone here to decode the Protocol ID and fixed data into a Protocol and Device settings. Then manually working through the keylist as shown on the device tab in IR and transferring them.

IR can only show you the contents of the onboard eeprom (That is what IR reads and can update), the built in codes are mostly in ROM which is not accessible to IR. If you need a list of all the device codes, Rob put together a comprehensive spreadsheet which contains that information.
