If you loaded a file from a different remote into your URC-8910, you will need to do a full factory reset before you can do any more JP1 programming with this remote.
To do a full factory reset, first bring up the LCD menu, then press either MUTE or RECORD (I forget which it is), then follow the onscreen directions.

Just to make sure you're not referring to an OPS RESET, could you describe the exact procedure you followed to do the full factory reset.jp1remote wrote:When i try to do a factory reset the display says ; Bad E2".can't go beyond that point.

You want to do a Manufacturer's Reset:
From Rob in the RC OFA Forum:
Seeing as how this thread has in fact become the un-official manual for the 15-2116, 15-2117, URC-8910 and URC-9910 remotes, I figure I might as well document how to do a full Factory Defaults reset here.
The manual supposedly describes how to return to factory defaults, but what it in fact describes is an "OPS RESET", which is the same as a 980 style reset on non-LCD remotes. Here's how you do a 981 style reset...
1) Hold SETUP (green P), till screen reads "CODE SET"
2) Press RECORD
3) Select MFR RESET from the LCD menu.

If you used an upgrade file for the 8811, open it in KM (or RM), change the selected remote to the 8910, verify/edit the button assignments, and then copy & paste the upgrade code into IR for the uploading to the 8910.
This help doc explains the process.

ok heres what I,ve done: Changed the remote to the 8910 in KM, opened the upgrade file , but when I try copy&paste the upgrade into IR I' getting all zeros in all the windows (ex.macros.etc) is it normal , or am i doing something wrong? Do I need rdf file to do this? When i switch to 8910 in KM it shows 9910/8910 UEI HT pro, is this the right file for my remote???Is there any other, way to do this, like raw data in text mode or somethin?

You do have the correct remote selected in KM so you should be OK there. Make sure you assigned the functions to buttons in the buttons tab. Just a check on the sequence, You need to open the upgrade in KM first and then change the remote to 8910.
You do not need the RDF for KM but do need to select the correct RDF in IR. If you download from the remote to IR you will automatically select the correct RDF. You can then use that as the base for your upgrade

well. when i download from the remote , Can i save the file in RDF ? because looks like its in IR format. How do you assigne the functions on the button tabs? to me, it looks like the buttons are already assigned( ?), correct me if im wrong, and finally, are those 8910 remotes w/ UHF or whatever extentions the same like mine , just plaine 8910 ???
