URC 8811, JP1 cable and discrete codes for Loewe Xelos

I should have been more accurate sorry.

I was trying to find a discrete code for another device than the one started in this thread. It's actually the next model up the Strong 5390.

Nec1 Device 0

It is way more complicated than I thought it seems.

The Strong isn't a main stream device, it's made for Australian Digital TV. It may not even have discrete codes.

Is there an existing thread that describes what needs to be done ?

It may be too complicated for me.

"Nec1 Device 0" is the sort of choice that strongly suggests all the possible commands will be contained within the 256 EFC numbers (As RC5 device 0 tends to suggest the opposite).

Did you need to learn every key from the original remote in order to build an upgrade, or did you find a built-in setup code or previous upgrade?

If you learned and decoded every key, did any of them have a subdevice or a different device number? I expect none of them did. Assuming that, and you tested all 256 EFCs, that's the whole set. There's nothing else reasonable to test.

I wasn't aware there was so much difference between protocols. Now I know.

I only learnt a couple of codes to confirm the NEC1 and Device 0.
I have an MX-700 universal remote that I'm using, so all I want to do is find a couple of specific discrete codes as I'm either using pre-setup devices within the MX-700 or purely learning the old remote to the MX-700 and then adding the spcific discrete codes where I need them.

I also didn't realise that their could be more than one device number for each Device. It would be a real pain to learn all the keys as the URC8811 that I have only has 4 learning keys. I may try doing a few and see if anything shows up.

I haven't been able to find any previous upgrades for these devices.

The only reason I have gone down this path is because the MX-700 software wont allow me to enter discrete codes, it only has the ability to learn them so I'm using the URC8811 purely to transfer them to the MX-700. Eventually I will setup the URC8811 to be used at my brothers place.

Only if you believe the user's manual!

The truth is you can learn to almost ANY key except the device keys.
