Keymap for existing codes?

This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

Keymap for existing codes?

Post by Scott Deeter »

Is there a way to see what the default keys are for an existing code for a particular remote?

Would you have to find the code as an upgrade and load it into RM/KM? or something else?

Or is trial and error the easier way?

Thanks:

If you have a learning remote then learn the code form the OEM remote to the learning remote. Then using IR download the config and look in the Learned tab.

Actually, I think he wants to know what is builtin into the JP1 remote.
Only way I can think to do this is to manually keymove all the keys from one device mode to another, then look at the keymoves in IR. This won't work on some of the newer remotes that simply store the keycode of the source key, as opposed to the hex command associated with that key.
