Help with Sony RM-Y809

I got the extender to work and have most of my devices in there. Ran into a few odd issues. I couldn't use the device combiner for the tivo codes. The remote would hang when they were in that protocol. After I pulled them and added them as their own protocol, they work fine. Also, I can seem to figure out how to create a dishplayer(old) protocol and device for this remote. When I choose it, the device upgrade box header changes to #VALUE! with nothing in it, and the macro box fills with #VALUE!. How can I get the protocol ID and fixed data outside of keymap master? Thanks.
You may have already figured it out by now, though, just in case... First, search for the key codes in KeyCode.htm or the RDF. (The SAT power button is $02.) Then, in IR.exe, enter the key code in the "Shift Button Keyocde" field in the "Other Settings" section under the "General" tab.Juppers wrote:How would I move the shift button to sat power, and any other idea what I'm doing wrong?
I am not sure why the device combiner wouldn't work, unless you are trying to combine the Sony TiVo upgrades with any multi-byte protocols.Juppers wrote:I couldn't use the device combiner for the tivo codes. The dishplayer(old) support seems to be broken for some remotes including DirecTiVo, TiVo and R5K. It looks okay on an old version of KM (v7.57) I have.

I think it's only broken for remotes that do not have the protocol built in. KM needs to know which version of the dishplayer(old) protocol to use, and it seems to be missing that data when the protocol is not built in.mtakahar wrote:The dishplayer(old) support seems to be broken for some remotes including DirecTiVo, TiVo and R5K. Can I get a copy of 7.57 anywhere? I can only find 8.14 or 5.19.
I think my problem with the device combiner was that most of the protocols I was using were in rom on the remote. I'm going to retry the device combiner later, but for right now I still have plenty of space and only the dishplayer device left to add. I want to add a few of my more common sound fields from the sony receiver, but that is a project for after i get the basics finished. Thanks.
