I got myself a 7781. It has a good haptic, nice button feeling. I agree with most of these points. Interesting that the extender will make switching devices via -> buttons easier. But more important problem is, that it doesn't have enough keys. Just to mention some usual functions of devices:
Eject, Repeat, Zoom, Time, Display, Audio, Program.
I know there's the convention to have eject on "Guide", but the printings on the remote could be more explanatory, for multi-use of buttons. Then I have some AV-Preamps with around 10 input selectors I don't know where to put those. Then in Europe only few devices are using the 4 color buttons, none of them uses ABCD buttons. So having my custom functions on the 4 colors + 4 ABCD brings too much headache even for me using lot of custom stuff, but never easy to use for other persons in the family
