Can you explain 10? It doesn't make sense.
Does this not work?

I'll try it tonight. I took #10 to mean do I have a learning remote question as in the actual learning procedure.

I read it the same way :)

Perhaps we can have two questions:
If YES in point 4,
10a. Is the question about learned signals?
10b. Is the question about learning procedure?

See the explanation for question 10 HERE. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, a yes to 5, 6 and 10 means you can make your own upgrade.

Thank you, I tried it and it seems to work OK, I'll need to run some more tests to be sure.

After testing each button, I find that file does not work. It works for about 25% of the buttons. What's my next step? I can't "learn" the buttons because my memory is near full. Do I post a request in the Codes forum?

Thanks for your help.

Use your JP1 cable to download the contents of the remote and save the IR or RMIR file. Now you can delete the learning memory (or just reset the remote), learn the buttons, save those to a temporary IR/RMIR file, and create an upgrade with the newly learned buttons.

Finally load the original saved file, add the upgrade, and upload to the remote. Don't forget to save the new IR file (to a differnt name).

Now that actually makes perfect sense. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks

This is where I get stuck. I assume I need to create an .rmdu file from my new .rmir file. How do I do that?

Follow the steps here: Wiki: How Do You Create An Upgrade From Scratch
That guide assumes you are using IR - you are using rmir, but you can follow basically the same steps.

Found a match and recorded the IR signals with the JP1 tools to create the respective files.
Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.)
