Need help with building new custom remote

Post by hcchheda »

Hi All,

I need your help in building a custom remote for my STB C371N for Cable provider DigiCable. For this I have recently got IR Widget cable, and using the instructions here, I have built one and have double checked a few time and I think I have built the remote correctly however I may be wrong.

Now when I start using these files through Slingbox SOLO SB260, the STB is not responding to commands that I fire through Sling player. I have tried to check if the IR blasters are placed correctly and I think its correctly placed.

I have uploaded the IRScope cature image, rmdu and bin file on this URL,
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=10440.

I hope you can guide me on what should I try further or anything wrong that I am doing.

Thanks

Yes, your protocol isn't properly setup and I don't blame you. The reference information for the Nokia32 protocol is scarce. There's not even information listed within protocol.ini which is why nothing shows up in the Protocol Notes for RM. Even the information in the DecodeIR.html document is rather unhelpful.

First thing you need to do is assign the device and sub-device in the Setup tab. If you look in your IR Scope screenshot the device is 38.96. This means when you set it up on RM, "38" is the device and "96" is the sub-device. Now if you look in the Misc section of IR Scope, you'll see that your learns are alternating between X=166 and X=38. The difference between these two values would be your toggle bit; which would be "128". To get a better understanding of how it works, I'll juxtapose these values for you in binary and decimal forms below.

10100110b = 166d
00100110b = 038d
======== = ====
10000000b = 128d

So, as you see above the bit that represents 128 is being toggled on and off between key presses. Therefore in RM the value for "X" should be "128" and the High X-bit value should be "Toggle".

Please, if you get a working copy, don't forget to upload it into our File Section to share with the community.

Okay, I have to apologize for my insolence. As apparently, I've remembered this part incorrectly. According to Vicky in this thread (https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewt ... 9119#p99119), the X should be the lower number of the two not the difference. It is supposed to be 38 not 128 as I've suggested.
