Need help on editing new RDF File for URC-8350

If you have a new remote that isn't recognized by RMIR, post the details here so we can help create a new RDF for it. Or, if there is an issue with an existing RDF or map, this is the place.

Need help on editing new RDF File for URC-8350

Post by Constantin »

I'am new to JP1 and have problems in editing the RDF file for the currently unsupported URC-8350 (IR & RF).
The IR dump as well as my first incorrect RDF is here:

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=7825

Device Codes:
TV - 02558 Western Digital WD-TV
DVD - 21633 Sony DVD Player DVP-NS708H
Audio - not set
STB - 01237 Dreambox 800

Thank you,

It is pretty adventurous to modify the RDF files as someone who is new to JP1. You might consider using the one created by NBoater which was submitted today. He wants people to test and get feedback it anyways.
Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.)

Using NBoater's RDF on an unextended remote is a very bad idea.

Just use the complete RDF that's been available HERE for nearly 3 years created by our top RDF expert.

You can use NBoater's Map and Image HERE. Just add the following line to the General section:

ImageMap=URC-8350.map

I'm kind of curious. If it has been available for three years, then why hasn't been made available in the general release?
