Hardware for a Denon AVR.-3803

Hello all,
I do have a Denon AVR-3803. It has a conector on the backside to hook up a seperate IR receiver. I only found the CR-1 promotion kit that consists of an IR-Receiver and a box that seems to have a littile amp. in there. They ask a round 130$ for it!!! I think that is too expensive for it.

Has someone a homemade version that I can afford. I would be greatful for any information on it or maybe a scematic for such a device.
