WOW
I installed
RM with ExcelsiorJet at the office. Flawless installation.
Missing RDFs and Images are all prompted for. Really cool.
External functions, device combiner, button assignments, all that seems fine.
Other than one DISH change needed in protocols.ini, I couldn't break it.
Questions - can it be installed on non-system drive, is there anyway to give X to close or not display the 'non legal in corporate environment' message on exit and will it expire?
I wonder if our inventory check of applications on local drive here will get flagged and reported and I go to jail
Few details here

I haven't checked
RMIR, other than a very fast review of one opened IR file. One device setup code wasn't right, error was protocol not built-in, reported 0000 when it's 1111 and something about Acer keyboard protocol. On RC-6 there were some error entries about "cannot halve 3". Finally, after I changed Denon-K to PanasonicCombo, I only saw functions on subdevice zero got retained. I'll follow all that up some other time.

Greg, protocol notes for 01f1 is wrong but that's IR problem not RMIR.

I just tried installing this new Jet version of RM but I still get the "trial has expired" message.

Rob, having seen your note, I just tried running it here. It expired for running as well. Edit: even though about 4 days ago it installed and ran fine.

Same here.

I guess the trial version expires 30 days after I install it on my build machine, not 30 days after you install it on your machine. Sorry about that. Hopefully the Excelsior team will get us that free license they've offered soon, and all these issues will go away.

Greg, will they remove that anti-corporate warning? The only reason to use this is on corporate computer where otherwise not allowed

otherwise standard java runtime does the job well. Or is it something else? Just curious.

I believe the anti-corporate warning is part of the trial license terms. The trial version is only meant for trying it out, not for deployment in a corporate setting.

Now that RM supports S3F80 processor, I tried modifying the RDF for Atlas 5 JP1.3 remote to set the processor to S3F80. It seems to work fine, except that I get the error about protocol not being compatible if there is only S3C80 upgrade for it. Previously since it was set to S3C80 in the RDF file and, it would just use that protocol upgrade and worked fine.
Would it work if RM looked for protocol upgrade for S3C80, whether in KM or RM file, or protocol.ini, if it didn't find one specifically for S3F80 first?

Here's a build of RM v1.79 built using Excelsior JET 5.0 Professional Edition. It should not have an expiration date. Please give it a try.
It should also address Liz's protocols.ini issues, and the S3F80 issues.

Is RM 1.79 a new release?

Not yet. Soon. It is in progress, but I thought it worth a trial of the new JET release.

How about the RMIR communication with JP1 remotes? Is that imminent?

Unfortunately, no.
