I've built and released RemoteMaster v1.52b

Changes for v1.52c

• Fix for exporting binary upgrade files
• Add DigitMaps through 332
• Add support for device type specific maps and images
• Improvements to column width handling
• Change Streamzap pid to 0123 and use new executor that supports all OBCs for a device number

I don't know if I'm the only one, but the width of the # and EFC columns in RM is now too narrow, so that I get 1 digit followed by ...'s.

Actually, I noticed this using the "metal" motif, but in others, other column widths in other motifd are too narrow, as well. Further, the column widths that occur when one SWITCHES motifs depends on what motif you're switching FROM, as well.

If I switch to "Metal" FROM "Windows", they're OK, but if I switch to "metal" from "windows classic", they're too narrow.

Is there a user way to adjust and set these column widths?

I've always found it best to stop and restart RM after changing the Look and Feel. That should produce the best results. I've actually considered removing the ability to change the Look and Feel.

I did find a code problem in the default width for the # column. The EFC column produces a good width for me at all times (after stopping/starting if changing the Look and Feel)

A problem (could be me but I haven't noticed it before) - can't see the cursor when entering data into the OBC column unless I double-click the cell first.

I assume what you are seeing isn't specific to the OBC column.

If you are using just the keyboard to edit the OBCs, goto the cell you want to edit using the arrow keys, the entire cell will be highlighted. If you start typing now, the entire contents of the cell will be replaced by what you type. If you want to edit the cell instead, press the insert key to enter edit mode. At that point you should be able to see text cursor and do what you want.

If you really want a single click to put the cell into edit mode, I'll consider making that a preference.

I always assumed this was due to a limitation in Java, but if you can make the RM cells work more like Excel cells, that would get my vote.

Just reporting what I see. I can still use it (and immense thanks for all the work on RM and letting us use it) but it's a bit disconcerting once you have entered data into a cell and then pressed the down-arrow but don't have any immediate indication of what cell you're now in.

It may be just me. 1.52b is the first one in a good while that opens up with a proper size in functions list. On previous versions I had to resize the sections each time it was opened. I like it, and appreciate all the work that's gone into it.

Help me out here. I can always tell what cell is currently active.
The entire cell gets selected.

What Java version are you using?

I'm using Java version "1.5.0_06"

The problem with having a single click put the cell into edit mode is that it becomes impossible to use drag-selection to select a group of cells. The cell becomes editable on the down-click, so dragging just selects within the cell. IF the editor for the cell is a combo box, the drag can actually cause selection of a different value.

BTW, I've also discovered that the Escape key will toggle a cell in and out of edit mode.

First and very quick look - It's beautiful.
Few small things:
1. Resizing columns does not work on the #column on the Keymoves sheet, any keymove over 99 can't be displayed.
2. I can't get anything on the Output tab, it's just grey - but that's likely me.
3. I'd like to see all the remote's buttons listed on the keymap sheet - the way in KM you can have a long list - yes it will get crowded, but is useful for side-by-side comparisons
4. Slingbox was in the way on opening even though I set the path - I muddled through and don't remember exact details

Huh? There is no Key Move sheet?

No controls of any kind? What upgrade did you load?

I have no idea what you mean.

Re #1: There is a keymoves sheet. Just the # column on the left can't be made fatter to show 3 digits. Index nmbers >99 came out "..."

Re #2: My own .rmdu files that work OK, one for 6131, one for 8910, nothing special. I recall looking at the Keymap tab, then tried the Output tab, but where the Upgrade and Protocol should be was all grey.

Re #4: I think it went like this: I originally set a wrong path to RDF...125 where Slingbox lives all alone. So, in a file where you hold user settings (I can't see RM at work), I changed the path to a lower level, where all other RDFs are. I restarted RM, loaded a .rmdu file for 6131extended. And the Slingbox was still in the picture. I needed to change to 6131 on the Setup sheet and that worked, but I didn't check whether everything was intact. Greg, this is in a "user messed up" category. If it's a real problem tonight, I'll post back, but I doubt that it is.

There most definitely is not a "keymoves" sheet in RM. There's only: "Setup", "Device Combiner", "Functions", "External Functions", "Buttons", "Layout", "Key Map" and "Output".

Got it. There is NO keymoves sheet in RM. True. I confused my notes.. I'm sorry about this dumb thing.

File https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3249 contains a whole mess of things. 8910 file shows blank Output. 6131 is OK, I'm just including it because had problems changing some widths.
I also included details, in screen shots, of what column widths won't change for me. And a log, but just from the 6131 session in case it reveals anything. Unfortunatly 8910 log got overwritten, darn!
Yesterday I was on windows look (XP is on windows classic), today I switched back to the metal look, but t made no difference in my quest for changing column widths.

Ignored until further notice.

I think really was user error. Didn't replicate today, perhaps because I started with the right directory so didn't have to fight the Slingbox.
But just in case, I've included a log from yesterday since there were some exceptions. That's all I got.

java 1.5.0.06, windowsXP-sp2, p4 ht, in case any of this matters.
