URC-9960 , How to Tell If It Is JP1

This is the JP1 beginners forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question in here, so post away, but this forum is just for JP1 users and people considering JP1, non-JP1 users please use the appropriate forum above!

URC-9960 , How to Tell If It Is JP1

Post by Scoobydoo »

Hi,

I'm new to JP1. I've been doing allot of reading.
I just built a JP1 Interface from a kit, and I installed the 6 pin header in a new RCU810, and successfully upgraded the code! :)

This is fun! Many thanks to all who have made this possible.

I am thinking about buying another toy, a 9960.
I believe that I have read that newer 9960's are not JP1.
Is there any way to tell by looking at the package?
I'd like to buy one online, (maybe Ebay) but I'm not sure if I could find a seller who would be willing to take it out of the package and remove the battery cover.

Thanks,

Scoobydoo

As far as I know, all 9960 models are JP1 compatible.

Hi Robman,

I saw a post that I thought said some were JP1.2, so I thought I should check.

Looking at it now it says, "some Kameleons", not "some 9960 Komeleons".

I just wanted to be sure.

Thanks,
Scoob
