The Beginner's Guide refers to the VPT device but doesn't include any information about the lines that show up for the 9910:

# Setting Value
1 HT transport device VCR
2 HT volume device RCVR/AMP
3 HT channel device SAT
4 HT menu device SAT
5 HT PIP device TV

Some remotes, including the 9910, have a home theater (HT) mode, which assigns difference sets/groups of buttons to different devices, so that you don't have to change the "active" device to control them.

"HT transport device" is the device that will be used for the transport buttons (play, fast-fwd, rewind, pause, etc.).
"HT volume device" is the device that will be used for the volume (and mute) buttons.
"HT channel device" is the device to be used for the channel (and prev) buttons.
"HT menu device" is the device to be used for the menu and navigation buttons.
"HT PIP device" is the device to be used fot the PIP buttons.

Have you read the documentation on Home Theater mode in the manual that came with the 9910? That explains most of this topic.

Maybe you just needed to know that "HT" means Home Theater.
