I am new to this so please excuse me if some of my terms are incorrect. I have a problem with the rcrp05b not being able to turn on or off the htr-6130 when using the 0176 code for yamaha's. I have tried the advanced codes 00246 and 00248. (the remote uses 5 digit advanced codes) I read that sometimes yamaha uses protocol 126 for power and the rest of the functions are on 122? Also if I uses the yamaha codes 1815 or 2061 that are in the code list that came with the remote the receiver will turn off with the power button but not on. I was hopeing someone here might know a way I can set this up without having to get a jp1 cord. The remote does everything I want but turn the power to my receiver on and off. You will not find a single command that does both, you will have to use two keys. Program setup code that gives OFF, keymove to another key, then reprogram the device with code that has the ON. now you have both commands under one device.

Ok. Got that. Thank you. But, I can't find an on code that works. I'm fine with 2 different keys it's just I can't find codes that work for on. Thank you for the help.

I had a very difficult time parsing this post. It took me a moment to recognize that the rca rcrp05b was that new remote.

Please post this question in the code search section using the code search template. Answer all the questions. There are a lot of ways to get this up and running, and our answers depend on what resources you have at your disposal

Use setup code 1815 (2061 may be a better overall match, but it is new, and I don't know what's in it.)

To make the unit turn on, keymove 16037 to a key of your choosing. Before doing that, you can test that 16037 works by pressing the device button to which you have assigned 1815, then press setup, then key in 16037. The remote will send the command, and the unit should turn on. You can also check if keying in 17029 turns the unit off.

Most of the functions of the receiver are controlled using device 122. However, Power On is dev 126, OBC 126, EFC 16037. Off is device 126, OBC 127, EFC 17029. 1815 is a so-called "combo" setup, and it can send commands for either 122 or 126.

In this particular case, you won't need to do what Edmund suggested because 1815 already controls most of the receiver, and is capable of sending the required Power On command. In many other situations, a different setup code/EFC pair is needed.
