I hadn't heard of the Hava before, but I found a forum at their website:
http://www.myhava.com/forum/

It appears that the Hava has a function where users can learn the signals from their original remotes and send them to the Hava folks who will convert them into BIN files.

http://www.myhava.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1666

The following post indicates that the Hava has been made with 4 different remote control chips (PK, PL, Axum, or Gondar):

http://www.myhava.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1955

I don't know what Axum or Gondar are, but PK and PL sound like the same UEI chips that appear in some Slingboxes.

I just downloaded one of their PL files and can confirm that it is the same as the Slingbox PL files.

http://www.myhava.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1524

So, bottom line, if you get a Hava box with a PL or PK chip, you should be able to use the JP1 tools to create a BIN file for it. I hadn't heard of the DM800HD before, but according to the Wiki page for it, it sounds like it uses the same remote as the other Dreambox models, so you can probably use this...

ps. while I was searching, I found your post over there too...

UPDATE: I just downloaded an Axum file and it's in the same format as a PL file:

As I didn't use the phrase "learned IR code" anywhere in my posts, I'm not sure which part of what I said you actually have questions about. But regardless, what I am saying is that you should be able to use Slingbox bin files to add remote control support to the Hava, and vice versa. I posted a link to a Dreambox bin file, which you should be able to add to the Hava files and be up and running, so you would have no work to do at all.

If you still have questions, please try and refer to something specific in my posts so I know which part you're not getting.

Oh this is fun!  Obviously anis-ber hasn't fully grasped remote speak, maybe is even translating this to a second language.

Anis-ber, many UNIVERSAL remotes can capture or learn a signal from another remote. The signal can then be sent by the universal remote, and in this case it sounds like the information can be exported for study as well.

The IR learning function within HAVA allows you to create a LRN file. There is no way I know of to convert this into a BIN file. Also there appear to be some issues with learning in the current 1.8.0 HAVA software, which are under investigation. Some people cannot get the learning to work properly.

Whereas using JP1 tools gives you some insight to the protocol and structure of the IR codes, the HAVA learning feature gives you neither. You test it right then and there using HAVA for both learning and playback.

OK firstly I run a hosting service. Have both sling and HAVA.

HAVA can allow multiple users on LAN and one on REMOTE connection at same time. Sling Cannot

HAVA can record, and burn off to DVD, upload to Itunes, Sling Cannot

HAVA is better over continents as it uses UDP sling uses TCP

Hava supports PAL & NTSC works in all countries... sling support a single TV type and work in selected countries.

HAVA has remote REBOOT sling do not. My HAVA will run at faster speeds on same lines overseas whereas my sling can struggle...

SLING have a MAC version... HAVA do not

SLING on IPHONE US$30 for software works in some countries
HAVA Free APP works everywhere
Sling on windows mobile US$30 for software HAVA Free

Sling PRO HD about three times what I pay for HAVA PLATINUM HD

I sent one remote to sling and one to HAVA. Sling have me a an IR bin with a lot of missing functions...

HAVA sent me an IR remote with every function working.

If you want the IR Bin file for your system then write to ...

irremotes@myhava.com.

I DO NOT WORK FOR HAVA....
