URC MX-350

I have a URC MX-350 remote. It is putting out IR signals perfectly. It is not putting out any RF signals. I know it is not emitting any RF because the red receive light does not flash on my RFX Sensor RFX-250 receiver. I know the red light works on that receiver because the red light flashes when I use my other URC MX-350 remotes.
I have tried the following...
1.I have set the remote to RF alone. I have set the remote to both IR/RF.
2. New batteries
3. Master reset to factory specs. I have done the factory reset many times.
4. I took all 4 batteries out over night and inserted new batteries the next day.
5. I have learned the volume up command numerous times. Volume up command works fin as IR.

Any ideas on what is going one here? Thanks.
Steve

This website is for UEI made remotes, not URC made remotes like the mx-350. I have had many of URC remotes where the RF is no longer working, it isn't anything you can do to fix it. Buy another used on ebay and move on. my last two mx-350 remotes were fried by the pcl-300 back-up device.

I took apart a new-to-me MX-900 recently to add the button repair keymat. When testing the remote, I noticed that the RF feature was not working. Upon taking the remote apart, the radio transmitter circuit board fell off the main PCB. It had been attached with standoff pins that had legs like an SMD component soldered onto the main board and through hole pins soldering the radio board to the standoff. The soldering of the 'legs' had failed over the years and separated cleanly from the main PCB without lifting the traces. I was able to re-solder it successfully back to working condition, but it was tricky.

I am going to wager that all URC remotes are similar with an RF daughter board arrangement connecting to the main PCB. You could take it apart to verify this. If you know someone good with a soldering iron, they could probably fix it.

The URC-9910 RF type UEI remotes have a similar problem. If you have a URC-9910 that still works but isn't sending RF signals, there is a small ring inside with a coil of wire around it that often becomes detached and can be fixed by re-soldering. If your remote rattles, this could be why.
