For those who don't know what this device is (like I didn't),
here is a product description and
here is a review of this High Def Multi-media jukebox.

friday,
Is your remote a learning remote? The
remotes chart seems to suggest that it is. You need to learn the finctions from your DVICO TVIX remote to the Dreambox remote and then use the JP1.X cable to download the results into IR. Then you can decode the signals and build an upgrade.
The process is described in the beginner's documents at the top of the beginner's forum. If anything is unclear, post questions about specific steps that you are having trouble with, or upload your IR file with the learned signals and somebody can help you convert it into an upgrade for your Dreambox remote.

thanks for help but be not angry,
You need to learn the functions from your DVICO TVIX remote to the Dreambox remote and then use the JP1.X cable...
the description in the chart says "learn yes"
i think it means, that i can learn new funktions, but ONLY with jp1.2 interface. this dreambox-remote can not learn like a pronto or a logi harmony.
but how do i get the funktions out of my tvix? i think the only way is with an ir-receiver. am i right?
i saw one in the marketplace from tommy tyler. but are there other ways?
i know that the code of my dvico is in the logitech-harmony-database. is there any way to get the codes?

Hey Friday,
The Capn wasn't being angry, he was describing how you could capture the codes yourself, once you get a JP1.x cable, and use that captured information to build an upgrade that you could load into your remote.
According to the remote chart, the Dreambox 7025+ remote is a learning remote, with or without JP1. Using JP1 would simply allow you to convert the learned signals into an upgrade. Have you tried getting your Dreambox remote to learn the signals from the TVIX remote?

not til now, becase i dont knew this method.
the remote has 2 primary buttons for units. the "dream-button" is for the usage of the 7025+, and the "TV-button" is for the 2nd unit mostly tv´s. therefor is a codelist on the webpage of the dreambx where you can pick a code trying to match with your tv.
http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/downl ... 0codes.pdf
but if you want to use a 3rd unit, you have to push 2 buttons after another.
1.shift 2.tv
that is what i want.
first i am trying to understand the document. but my english is not well. it seems to be a bit difficult for me.
i am scared to try this and then my remote dont work anymore.

i tried this of the doc
1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice. - OK
2. PRESS 9 - 7 - 5, the red LED will flash twice. - NOTHING BLINKS
3. PRESS the DEVICE key where you wish to learn the function. - i took the tv-button
4. PRESS the button that will receive the learned function, the LED will flash rapidly. - OK BUT ONLY 1 FLASH
5. PRESS the button on the original remote to be learned.
nothing was learned, but no surprise. i am wondering that it could be so easy. but nobody here in the dreambox community know anything about this way.

maybe the only way for me (and others) is to work with a IR-signal-receiver?
thanks for your fast response

I did some research since my last message and it appears that you need to modify the Dreambox remote in order to make the learning feature work.

Good day friday,
In order for you to get your Divco to work with your dreambox remote, you'll need to find out what the DIVCO signals are.
Your remote is not a learning remote. Your remote could be made into a learning remote if you are able to make the modifications that Rob told you about.
If you are not able, you will need to find a source for the DIVCO information. If we know what the DIVCO signals look like, we can build you a code that can be loaded with a JP1.2 cable.
Do you know someone with a pronto who would be willing to capture your signals and dump them to a CCF file for decoding? Or someone with a JP1.2 learning remote who would let you hook up their remote with a JP1.2 cable?

The following schema describes the components that you need to add...
The three transistors are MMBT3904, C6 is .1uF, C7 and C18 are 10pF, R12, R18 and R23 are 1K, R14, R20 and R24 are 10K, R13 is 1M.
There may be another resister that you also need to supply, see this...

And here is a schema for the URC-8820, which is a similar remote...

There is a
PCF file (for Pronto) over at Remote Central. I'm not sure we know how to convert these into JP1 format. We can handle CCF Pronto files with relative ease. WIll need an expert to weigh in here.
Even if we decode this, friday, you will still require the JP1.2 cable to upload the resulting upgrade into your remote. The positive aspect if this file works, however, is that you will not have to solder bits onto your remote to make it capable of learning.

hey capn my capn,
this would be very very great for me if you can do this.
because my dreambox remote is nearly perfect for me and my handycap to use.
but if your way dont work, maybe the only way for me (and others) is to work with a IR-signal-receiver + jp1.2?
greets from the wet germany

i have seen today, that my remote (htr 2) for my NAD - amplifier has a interface too. but it looks different. it has 8 pins.
this remote can learn signals!
is there any way to use this interface?
[edit]
i have found a
ccf file on remotecentral for a tvix 5000, but it should also work on
5100 and the newest 6500.
btw. in file-section is a rdf-file URC-39930 BJ0
is that matching with my URC-39930rj0-03 ?
when i use it, ir shows my devices, but i am not sure if this is save.

No. If it has 8 pins, it's obviously not a UEI remote and therefore it won't work with JP1.

I have created the following upgrade based on that CCF file:

IR.exe will automatically select the correct RDF, so you don't need to worry about details like this.

Does this mean that you now have a JP1 cable and are able to download from your remote?
