When I received my 7544 it had no JP1 connector or EEPROM fitted. I put in a connector and 2K EEPROM myself. Did you have to do this or did yours already have them fitted? I ask because I think with this model they usually come without the connectors/EEPROM and only get fitted if it has been back to UEI for an upgrade.

I sent mine to the manufacturers over a year ago to get it coded for my Sony DVD/VCR so it may have been done by them then, I didnt notice at the time as I wasnt JP1 wise.

IIRC, UEI simply replaces a sent in remote that is not JP1-enabled with one they have on-the-shelf, usually with a 1k EEPROM, so that is likely when your remote was "upgraded" - it was most likely replaced.

Ube,
Is your remote a 7544-B01? Mine is, with a 2K EEPROM, and works with the limitations I mentioned earlier. Just wondering if yours is a newer or different version.

Hi mate. Mine is 7544 B02 looks like its 1K.
Now I have tried Robs UDF today and download from remote, it says 'bad checksum address at $0000. Expected $09 but $F6, but found $FF $FF'. Then 'there is conflict at fixed address $0015...blah, blah'. But I cannot upload to the remote.
