Ah, that explains it. My advice (pertaining to the parallel port) would therefore be wide of the mark (in this case) as I assumed that you were using a "Simple Interface" JP1 cable.

Note to anyone else reading this in the future - Provide specific and complete information with your original question and don't jump to conclusions when providing answers!

I think it's reasonable to assume that people are using the Simple parallel cable unless they tell you otherwise, but I totally agree with you that people should post as much info as possible when asking for help.

If laudou had mentioned that he was using a USB interface I bet somebody would have suggested checking the driver much earlier.
