No conflict. The mouse uses a custom protocol unrelated to the first. Post your RMIR file so we can have a look.

mdavej,
Apologize for not posting the files before - never did it and forgoet my manners. Here is a zip with the rmdu, and Ortek, mouse, TV, and DVDR upgrade files. Hope I did it correctly and included the right files.
Thanks for the help.

You posted the files correctly. Looks like you do have a protocol conflict of some kind. Try this: In RMIR, go to the Devices tab, click New, and Open the mouse device upgrade. Type 01FE in the Alternate field, arrange buttons as desired on the Layout tab, and press OK. Assign the device to a device button if you want. Otherwise at least make some keymoves of the mouse commands onto the Ortek device.

mdavej,
Did as instructed with the "01FE" in the Alternate field. Assigned up & down to Pg +-, left & right to Day -+, and left click to Input, and right click to Ch-. Assigned the upgrade to Aud device. All six work as desired. Now the upgrade shows the protocol as "PID 01 FE".

Not sure how to proceed from here. Use the new upgrade and copy the functions into the OrtekMCE upgrade?

Personal preference from here on out. Just make some keymoves from mouse to ortek if you want. The other option is to switch devices whenever you want to use the mouse. Realize you have to keep both devices to use the functions from both. One doesn't replace the other.

I have had a long-standing problem using a Microsoft RC6 remote control with my HTPC, so I thought that I would try the Hama version of the Ortek/Adesso/Gmyle/Sanoxy remote control. It does solve the RC6 problem that I have, but it introduces several other problems, one of which is (for me) a show-stopper. Before you spend too much time programming the Ortek protocol on your remote, I thought that I would mention these problems, so that you can decide for yourself whether they matter to you.

(1) In the Ortek protocol, the "Info" button sends a right mouse click, whereas it should be sending CTRL-D. You will notice this in the "Video" folder of Media Center if you want to look at the programme information for a recording. (For me, this is a show-stopper.)

(2) Microsoft RC6 remote controls assign the PLAY function to the "Play" button, and the PAUSE function to the "Pause" button. This means that when playing a recording, you can press the "Play" button to see how much of the recording remains to be viewed, without interrupting playback. In contrast, the Ortek protocol defines both the "Play" and "Pause" buttons to be a PLAY/PAUSE toggle. If you press the "Play" button to see how much of the recording remains, it will pause the playback. (This difference is irritating for me, but I could probably live with it if a solution existed for defect (1) above.)

(3) Microsoft RC6 remotes will start Media Center when you press the "Start MCE " button (sometimes called the "Green Button"). But RC6 remotes will also start MC if you press the "Live TV", "Recorded TV", "Video", or "EPG" buttons (possibly several others too). In contrast, the Ortek protocol will start MCE only by using the "Start MCE" button. (This difference is of no importance for me.)

I finally snagged a genuine MCE dongle the other day and am loving it. Thanks again for pointing out these Ortek issues. It's nice to have working Play and Info functions.
