Star trek phaser teac t.v. code????

I am desperately looking for the code for a Teac T.V. for the star trek phaser remote control, it is the next generation one, I can email a pic
if that helps???
I have the manual ,but it does not list the teac t.v.
The code is a 3 digit one ...this remote only takes 3 digit codes.
have searched every where ....even Teac in oz don't know ..or just won't give me the code.
Any assistance greatly appreciated!!!!!

I think I speak for all of us here at JP1 in wishing you happy holidays. Sadly, I do not think we can help you, unless your star trek phaser remote control grows a set of JP1 pins.

We deal with remotes we can communicate with via a JP1 connector inside the battery compartment of a majority of the remotes made by UEI, usually either One-For-All brand or Radio Shack brand. The fact that your remote takes only a three digit setup code I believe pretty much eliminates the possibility that it was made by UEI, which means that even though we would love to help you, we probably don't know a thing about your remote control.

Have you given any thought to switching to a JP1 remote? If so, leave a note here. Being that you live in Australia (my niece and nephew are planning to move to the east coast of Australia in a few years) I would suggest that you buy a OFA 8811 from "The Robman" for $25 (see the market place on this forum). It has all the features: learning, macros, backlight, JP1, and much more, even several extenders already written for it that will allow the remote to do things it was never meant to do. Or, if you have Wal-Mart stores in Australia, you can buy a OFA 8810w for less than $20. (all prices are in US dollars)

Is is possible to refit the star trek phaser with the components???
as I like the phaser ...I have 8 of these I want to market here in "oz" but they obviously need the upgrade as they are older say 1994??
any ideas???
I am totally new at this.

Nope. it likely doesn;'t use any of the ueic MCU's, and retrofitting an eeprom would be a nightmare.

With a TON of work, maybe a year's worth of PCB development you *might* be able to strip the guts, and replace the whole innards, maybe just using the original buttons. For the time, energy, and cost for just being able to dump 8 remotes, I wouldn't think anyone would want to pay $5000.00 for one.

Actually, the older UEI remotes did use a 3-digit setup code. But I think you are correct in this case that this is not a UEI remote, or at the very least that it is not a JP1 remote.
