Received the RCA RCRP05BR that I ordered. While I'm waiting for the USB to TTL cable to arrive, I thought it would be best to get the RCA remote to operate all of my devices via manual programming.
Any suggestions for the best code to use for:
- 1. Panasonic DMP-BDT220 DVD/Bluray player.
- 2. Magnavox MDR515H DVDR.
So far I found that code 0490 works for the BDT220 but only a limited number of buttons work like MENU, EXIT, Navigation and Transport. None of the other buttons seem to work. I can learn the other buttons but if someone knows a code that can get most of them to work (especially the number buttons), that would be a big help.
I tried every other code listed for Panasonic DVD player in the document that came with the RCRP05BR, and I also tried a code search without any code better than 0490.
FOUND THE BEST CODE FOR THE CISCO ISB7050 AND ISB7000 UNITS:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BTW, I found the code for the Cisco ISB7050 DVR and ISB7000 set-top box by doing the code search. The code is 0858. This code allows almost all of the buttons on the RCRP05BR to work with the ISB70x0 units.
Thanks for any help,
Raptor

Look at your remote while using 0490. See how when you press the transport buttons the DVR or DVD LED lights up? And when you press a number button, the Cable LED lights up? You need to change the behavior of the Channel Lock. Don't use the printed instructions that come with the remote--they're probably wrong.
Panasonic Blu-ray players use device 176, the Lookup Tool (link at the top of this page) tells us that the RCRP05B has setup codes 0490, 0682 and 1641 which are capable of sending Panasonic device 176.

Yep, the cable LED was lighting when I pressed the number buttons while in DVD mode. Did the channel unlock thing and now the number buttons work for DVD player. I checked out the Lookup Tool and it contains a lot of data. I'm analyzing the data using the info you provided to learn how to use the Lookup Tool.
Thanks much 3FG. You're a great help,

Your Magnavox 515h uses a Nec1 135.34 code
The RCA remote sends the Nec1 135.34 signal on Video/0675, Video/0821 and Video/1269.
There is a Keymapmaster (KM) upgrade for the Magnavox
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=9716
Open your that file with KM or RemoteMaster (RM) to see how to get the other keys to work with EFCs.
You'll want the dubbing key and the HDD and DVD functions if you use the device like I do. Also note, I checked all possible EFC's with this upgrade and didn't find any hidden features.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Thanks for the helpful info and links. I browsed the getzweb site and notice that you're the owner. Nice job! And thanks for taking the time to check all possible EFC's for hidden features. Frankly, much of the info is over my head but I'll gradually learn as I continue to read.
