Buttons that are not upgraded.

A couple of elementary questions:

1. When a button's function is specified in the remote's ROM and an upgrade file which doesn't assign any function to the button is loaded into the remote, does the button have the same function as it did before the upgrade?

2. What's a subdevice?

Thanks, Mark. I don't know why I didn't see that. I used RM to load the SA 8300HD upgrade using this Atlas rdf and reassigned a few buttons, just to see if I could match up all the buttons with their original functions. It works.

I have an Atlas DVR remote, also, but there is no Day button, and the label on the 6 pin connector is "JP1". I'd like to revise its programming in several ways. I guess I should get a JP1 cable and try the rdf files in the files area for a version of the Atlas with JP1.2 or JP1.3? Might that work?
