Well, since you have a URC-8810, which is a learning remote, you could learn the signals from the original remote. Then look at the decodes in IR, and there would be no more searching or guessing involved.

OMG! I'm an idiot! I forgot completely that the 8810 was a learning model (DUH). Shows how ...

What I checked was the "Files" section in the Jp1 yahoo user group. "Ahhh... Bach" (Radar O'Reilly - circa 1954) :)

Well. welcome to the new file section!

Robman, perhaps you could update the Code Search FAQ Sticky Post for that line (File Search) to actually link to the current file ...

What I checked was the "Files" section in the Jp1 yahoo user group. here is the exact URL: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files/3.%20Device%20Codes/DVD/ The cyberhome files on in that location go from the 300 to the 1500, but no 1600 there and no 1200. I tried all of the text files there (loading ...

Since you have a Cyberhome DVR, and there are about 12 Cyberhome upgrades in the DVD upgrade file section , 3 of which are DVRs, why don't you try those rather than a "possibly the same item" ILO upgrade?

I'm sorry, I haven't used the software and remote for about a year. The upgrade option wasn ...

I can also say that while using an epson printer I've had problems interfacing with my remote through a jp1 cable. It's an epson 760 connected to a USB port, but if the printer is on, forget using the jp1 cable, and vice versa.

Incidentally, my 8810w was also open when I bought it (last one any ...

Ok, I just tested this and forgot the Pioneer 3 device protocol is LSB not LSB-Comp like most other Pioneer/NEC protocols. So that means my EFC method won't work using the procedure described above.

You first have to place the EFC from Audio 0013 or IR into EFC in the EFC calcualtor. Then copy ...

Ok guys, I think I have the hang of calculating the HEX codes and understanding the multiple device idea with the 1023 audio code.

Unfortunately, I cannot get a response from any of the HEX codes posted by johnsfine, nor can I get any experimental codes of my own to work (from looking at the 0013 ...

Ok, I've uploaded my IR file to the yahoo group diagnosis folder (file name: "gbalight8810.zip")

I *am* using the 1023 audio code (thanks jon). I'm still looking at the posts about the 1023 being a "two byte" code, and am actually still reading the info. For whatever reason, when in RCVR or CD mode ...

Pioneer code search from learned function

I made a post last night, but ended up deleting it after I found most of my answers in the pioneer code listings. However, there is still something that I'm trying to do that I seem to be at a loss to figure out so maybe some of the pros can lend a hand :)

I have an old pioneer receiver (sx-312R ...

I'm curious: what type of LEDs are used in the OFA's? (SMD, 3mm, 5mm, flat?)
Itty bitty SMD's... see here .

Thanks Mark. That's what I figured. That's an interesting thread... the idea of different colored LEDs for different key groups. Good thing the new digikey catalog came last week, time to ...

If the backlight is a big part of your decision, I would suggest avoiding all of the OFA remotes and get yourself a 15-2116 or 15-2117 from Radio Shack. The current batch of OFA remotes just use little LEDs for the backlight (and alot of people don't like the current red color), whereas the RS ...

Paul,

Another option is to buy one from Rob for $25. With tax at Wal-Mart they come up to $22 so it is pretty much the same, and with the gas money you are spending driving for hours to 3 different Wal-Marts, you will actually come out ahead! :)

I totally agree :) He's currently out of the 8811s ...
